I've read a lot of Science Fiction and Fantasy. This book, and in truth the entire series, ranks with the very best that I have encountered. Janet Marie Lewis has created a world that is superlatively imaginative; and in the context of this genre entirely believable. If you want to read a series with well-developed characters, plausible science, a seamlessly organized story line, a unique and fascinating magic system, and battle descriptions which rival the very best this genre has to offer (Tolkien, Sanderson, Jordan, Stover, Morgan, Abercrombie, Bakker), then pick up these books and read them. They are all good reads. The first three books exquisitely set the stage for The Quest for the Shadow Shallop which brings the story together. It is her crowning acheivement...so far. Follow Saphun, Jackie, Maggie, Bryrite, Tistan, Falhovian, Ilemie, and a host of others on an adventure to save a vital princess. You won't regret the journey.
Had Me in Tears

Yet another fantastic adventure full of polt twist and danger. This book literally had me in tears at one point. My heart goes out to the little girl main character is this series. Page Turner every step of the way. I cant wait to see what book 4 brings to the series.

This is the second book and the books keep getting better!!!! Your heart stops as young Korii the main character fights against all odds to save not only our world , mankind but the world all her new friends live in as well. This book will have you on the edge of seat on the verge of tears at points, and ready to jump in and fight with Korii at other points. You find yourself relating and falling in love with the characters. The author found a way to describe everything so vividly its as if you are in this alternate deminsion with Korii. You find your self feeling for the group of companions as they embrak on a magical and dangerous journey to save krstaland. I just started the third book now and AMAZING is all I can say about the series that has captivated my heart, mad me smile cry and be furious at times... Thank you to Janet the author for sharing such a wonderful series looking forward to book 4!

Amazing book that keeps you turning the page. Characters have great depth and you won't be disappointed with this or the rest of the series.

It is rare for me to enjoy short stories because they don't feel complete. These are proof you don't need a novel length story to have a good ending. These short stories were enjoyable to read.
